Wilbur Ross’ Invesco Private Capital Top Picks: Navigator Holdings Ltd. (NVGS), Assured Guaranty Ltd. (AGO) & More

In the current round of 13F filings, hedge funds and other institutional investors are disclosing their equity portfolios as held at the end of the last year. One of those is Invesco Private Capital, managed by Wilbur Rosswhich at the end of the fourth quarter, reported an equity portfolio worth $1.50 billion, significantly up from $942.34 million disclosed a quarter earlier.

In this article, we will discuss about top five holdings in terms of value that Invesco Private Capital has held in its equity portfolio at the end of last year.

The first one is Navigator Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:NVGS), a new position in which the fund disclosed ownership of 23.27 million shares, with a reported value of $626.91 million. Navigator Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:NVGS) owns and operates the world’s largest fleet of handysize liquefied gas carriers. It provides international seaborne transportation and regional distribution services of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), petrochemical gases and ammonia for energy companies, industrial users and commodity traders.

The second-largest holding in Invesco Private Capital’s equity portfolio is represented by Assured Guaranty Ltd. (NYSE:AGO), in which the fund holds 14.84 million shares worth around $350.13 million. Assured Guaranty Ltd. (NYSE:AGO) is a Bermuda-based holding company, which provides, through its operating subsidiaries, credit enhancement products to the U.S. and international public finance, infrastructure and structured finance markets.

BankUnited (NYSE:BKU) is the third-largest holding in which Invesco Private Capital reported owning 5.56 million shares, with a reported value of around $183.09 million. The stake represents a decrease from 8.19 million share dsisclosed previously.

The fourth position is held by EXCO Resources Inc (NYSE:XCO), in which the fund owns 31.50 million shares, worth $167.29 million. EXCO Resources Inc (NYSE:XCO) is engaged in the exploration, exploitation, development and production of onshore the United States oil and natural gas properties with a focus on shale resource plays.

Sun Bancorp, Inc. /NJ (NASDAQ:SNBC) comes in fifth, Invesco Private Capital owning 21.28 million shares, worth $74.90 million. Sun Bancorp, Inc. /NJ (NASDAQ:SNBC), a bank holding company, last month announced the appointment of Keith Stock to the board of directors. Mr. Stock is chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of First Financial Investors Inc. and senior executive advisor with The Brookside Group.
