Even in emerging markets, things are beginning to move in the right direction. With all this in mind, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) finds itself in position to take advantage.

With its iPhone and iPad devices, many people turn to Apple when they want to stay connected. They know that they are getting high quality, reliable technology at a reasonable price.

This brings us to a recent report by ABI Research: Growing Demand for Mobility will Boost Global Wi-Fi Hotspots to Reach 6.3 Million in 2013

Apple Inc (AAPL)As the demand for mobility continues to rise, so will the number of global Wi-Fi hotspots. Along with this, so will the number of devices, such as smartphones and tablets, sold by companies including Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and its many competitors.

Here is what industry analyst Khin Sandi Lynn had to say in the report:

“Despite the successful adoption of 3G and 4G mobile data services, the number of Wi-Fi Hotspots has continued to proliferate and are anticipated to surpass 6.3 million by the end of 2013.”

This may not have a direct impact on how Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) conducts business, but it goes a long way in showing that the need to stay mobile is more important to people than ever before. And remember, Wi-Fi hotspots are worthless unless the people using these have access to devices such as smartphones and tablets.

The study goes on to add the following:

“As mobility is increasingly important for users, fixed broadband operators are also building Wi-Fi hotspots in order to provide fast and reliable Internet connections when the customers are away from home. Five cable companies from the United States (Cox, Comcast, Time Warner, Optimum, and Bright House) have agreed to allow their customers to access more than 100,000 Wi-Fi hotspots installed nationwide.”

The growing demand for mobility is going to be a good thing for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) as well as the companies that provide Wi-Fi hotspots. Things are moving fast, and an increasing number of people throughout the world want to stay connected at all times.
