EPS came in at $2.02. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $1.07 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $2.02 for Q1 were 110% higher than the prior-year quarter’s $0.96 per share. (The prior-year quarter included $0.06 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.) GAAP EPS were $1.33 for Q1 compared to -$0.56 per share for the prior-year quarter.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 8.3%, 50 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 3.7%, 120 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 3.7%, 540 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
