Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg said his company is teaming with six other technology firms to bring Internet access to some 5 billion people who still do not have it. The group, called internet.org, includes founding members Facebook, Ericsson, MediaTek, Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK), Opera, Qualcomm and Samsung. The companies will develop joint projects and push industry and governments globally to make Internet access available.

I sincerely appreciate you hanging up on me. As a resident of San Francisco for over 25 years, I have a huge network of friends (ages 25-40) that all are extremely active on Yelp as well as other social media. I will gladly let them know how you treated me as well as my feelings about the people who run Sauce.”

LinkedIn Corp opens its door to students (ET)
LinkedIn Corp (NYSE:LNKD) said it will open its social networking site to those above 13 years of age in a moved aimed at attracting a younger membership base. The company, which makes much of its money by selling access to its members’ resumes to corporate recruiters, said the changes will come into effect on September 12. LinkedIn also introduced a new feature called University Pages enabling schools, students, and alumni to connect on the website.
