Silicon Graphics International Corp (SGI): Billionaire Chuck Royce Slashes Stake

According to a recent 13G/A filing, billionaire Chuck Royce‘s Royce & Associates has sold around 2.48 million shares of Silicon Graphics International Corp (NASDAQ:SGI), lowering its stake to 853,684 shares, which amass 2.2% of the company’s outstanding stock. Previously, the fund’s stake consisted of 3.34 million shares, as per its 13F filing for the end of June.

Silicon Graphics International is a company that manufactures computer hardware and software and high-performance solutions for data management, data analytics and computing. Recently, the company invested in extreme scale software research at the Irish Center for High-End Computing, providing support to the European software research community. In the first-half of August, it was announced that Silicon Graphics International will be acquired by Hewlett Packard Enterprise for $275 million, with the transaction expected to be completed during the first quarter of Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s fiscal year 2017. Year-to-date, Silicon Graphics’ stock has gained 30.68%. In its financial report for the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2016, Silicon Graphics disclosed flat EPS and revenue of $122.7 million, compared to a loss per share of $0.28 and revenue of $152.90 million for the corresponding quarter of its fiscal 2015.
