At this point, Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) BlackBerry is well aware that it must do whatever it can to separate itself from the pack. While the company continues to work at stealing back some of the smartphone market share it lost a few years back, things are moving forward slowly.

The good thing for BlackBerry is the fact that the company’s new operating system is beginning to become more and more popular with each passing day. Along with this, both the Z10 and Q10 have performed well in the sales department.

Research in Motion Ltd. (BBRY)Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) BlackBerry is doing something else to stand out in the crowd. The company is choosing a fan of the month on its official blog.

You can see the latest piece here: BlackBerry Introduces: BlackBerry Fan of the Month, June 2013

This may not do anything in terms of increasing sales and revenue, but it definitely sets the company apart from its primary competition. This is not something you would likely find other companies doing on a regular basis.

Here is a brief excerpt from the introduction:

“Meet Heather: A self-proclaimed BlackBerry fanatic, she plays on Team BlackBerry from multiple angles. For work, Heather praises BlackBerry as a key tool in getting organized. In her personal life, Heather keeps in touch with close friends and family through BBM. For play, Heather gives a big thumbs up to BlackBerry’s Travel app which kept her from staying overnight in an airport on her way to BlackBerry Live (read the impressive story below)!”

This gives you a better idea of why she was selected as the Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) BlackBerry fan of the month. It also shows the audience that there are people out there who are using BlackBerry devices for a variety of tasks.

Don’t think people are passionate about this company? Here is what this fan had to say when asked how many BlackBerry devices she has owned in total:

“Our family has had 16 BlackBerry devices, so far. But of course, we have plans for more. We started with the BlackBerry 7230, then we moved on to two BlackBerry Curve devices, a BlackBerry Storm, two BlackBerry Bold 9000 devices, two BlackBerry Torch 9800 devices, and a BlackBerry Torch 9810.”

This is a neat feature on the Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) BlackBerry blog that we will be keeping up with in the months to come.
