Blackberry Smartphone Market Share: Research In Motion Looking to Add More Value In Key Emerging Market

Blackberry Smartphone Market Share: Over the past few weeks, we have talked a lot about Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) looking to make a comeback in the smartphone market. After all, the company is nowhere near as successful today as it was in the not so distant past.

Research In Motion Ltd (BBRY)Despite its recent struggles, Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has realized that the path to the top may be through emerging markets. While the company will continue to work on growing market share in larger markets – such as the United States, Asia, and Canada – it is not overlooking the benefits of focusing on others, such as India.

We recently touched on Research In Motion Ltd diving into the Indian market in the near future. You can read more about this here: Will Research In Motion Ltd (BBRY) Follow Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NOK) Downhill in this Emerging Market?

According to ZDNet, BlackBerry has some other ideas or adding value to consumers in India.

In its recent article – BlackBerry targets Indian SMBs with mobility management – you will see how “with BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, the company wants to be the vendor companies think of in terms of mobility management, including enterprises that deploy Android and iOS devices.”

As you can see, BBRY is going to use its BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 to bring more value to users. This holds true for those who rely on a BlackBerry device as well as those deploying Android and iOS devices.

Last week at the BlackBerry Experience Forum in New Delhi, the company took the time to showoff its Enterprise Service 10 solution. With this, the company is hoping to make headway with “medium-scale businesses in India.”

What is BES10 all about? Why is Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) hoping for such big things out of it? ZDNet explains that it is able to offer mobile management along with “device management, security, unified communications, and applications.” In short, it makes it easier for companies to manage and secure both “bring your own device” and corporate devices. The ability to do so on iOS and Android devices is a huge plus.

With Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) spending more and more time in India, it will be interesting to see if it pays off in the near future. Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: there is no lack of effort on BlackBerry’s part.
