According to a recent 13G filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Andy Redleaf‘s Whitebox Advisors owns 2.31 million common shares of Renewable Energy Group Inc. (NASDAQ:REGI), which account for 5.6% of its shares outstanding. The stock represents a new addition to Whitebox Advisors’ equity portfolio.

Renewable Energy is a company that produces biofuels and develops renewable chemicals, and is working on providing lower carbon intensity products. Year-to-date, the company’s stock is down by 2.26%. For the second quarter of 2016, Renewable Energy disclosed earnings per share of $0.16, missing the estimates of $0.28, and revenue of $558.3 million, easily topping the estimates of $417.78 million.
