Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has clarified that its upcoming videogame console Xbox One would not require a Kinect sensor for it to operate. However, the sensor would still be part of the bundle as a basic accessory. This means that although Kinect comes with the package, a player does not need to use it just to play the game. This clarification reverses the company’s previous announcement that Kinect would have to be connected to Xbox One to make the device work. Still, the company asserts that the second-generation motion sensor remains an important and integral component of the gaming platform.

BlackBerry Advisers Eyeing Microsoft (HispanicBusiness)
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) is among the tech giants BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) advisers are eyeing as likely buyers of the smartphone maker, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday. The Redmond, Wash., software company expressed an interest in the Waterloo, Ontario, pioneer in wireless handheld devices and services more than a year ago, but it didn’t result in a deal. A Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)-BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) combination could make Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) a more substantial player in the smartphone race, the Journal said. But it would also likely create difficulties with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s current partnership with Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK), another former cellphone leader, the newspaper said.
