Omega Advisors, managed by Leon Cooperman, revealed in the latest 13F, its holding for the fourth quarter of last year. The hedge fund now manages an equity portfolio worth $7 billion, which went up from $6.6 billion reported for the previous quarter. We have picked the top five holdings of in terms of value that Omega Advisors held in its equity portfolio at the end of last year.
Out of the top-five, the first on the list is Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S), in which Cooperman has boosted his position to 40.56 million shares, from the previous amount of 35.29 million shares. The value of the stake, has thus increased to $436.01 million from $219.49 million at the end of the third quarter.
Coming in second is American International Group Inc (NYSE:AIG), a global insurance company. The position amasses almost 5.85 million shares, slightly up in comparison with 5.81 million shares held at the end of September. The value of the holding went up to $298.44 million, from $282.38 million.
The next is SLM Corp (NASDAQ:SLM), a holding company, which operates in Consumer Lending, Business Services and FFELP Loans. Omega Advisors has slightly trimmed its position to 10.60 million shares, from the previous amount of 12.92 million shares, while the value decreased to $278.59 million, from $321.64 million at the end of the third quarter.
Omega Advisors’ fourth-largest holding is Sirius XM Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ:SIRI), represented by a $273.94 million stake. The fund holds 78.49 million shares, slightly up from 71.89 million shares it held at the end of September.
Omega Advisors’ fifth most valuable holding is an independent oil and natural gas company, SandRidge Energy Inc. (NYSE:SD). The stake was upped to 40.53 million shares, valued at $246.03 million, from 34.26 million shares held at the end of the third quarter.
Moreover, the fund added Sunedison Inc (NYSE:SUNE) to its equity portfolio in the fourth quarter, revealing a $105.75 million stake, which amasses 8.10 million shares; T-Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) is also a new position, of which the fund owns 3.04 million shares, worth $102.27 million. At the same time Omega Advisors dumped NYSE Euronext (NYSE:NYX), previously holding 4.12 million shares.
