Is Apple Inc. (AAPL) Gaining Momentum? Listen to this Analyst

For many months, consumers and investors have been looking for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to do something exciting. While Cupertino continues to chug along in its normal fashion, the competition seems to be doing bigger and better things.

Fortunately for Apple, the announcements at WWDC 2013 should go a long way in putting some of its issues to rest.

Apple Inc. (AAPL)We don’t know anything more about a cheap iPhone. We don’t know anything more about an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) television. What we do know is that Cupertino is working hard on what CEO Tim Cook has called “game changers.”

For a better idea of what Apple is up to and whether or not the company has introduced these game changers, we don’t have to look any further than a recent video interview with Piper Jaffray Senior Research Analyst Gene Munster.

Munster sat down with Emily Chang on Bloomberg Television’s “Bloomberg West” to discuss this point.

When asked by Chang if Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has announced a game changer or if we are still waiting, here is what Munster had to say:

“No, this was not a game changer. There was important substance as we talked about, because the iOS is a critical part of how people get mesmerized with their phones. It is more about the software than the hardware. I don’t want to downplay the importance of today, but the real fireworks is going to start this fall and into next year.”

Like many, Munster does not believe that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has even scratched the surface regarding the game changers that the company has spoken of in the past.

He went on to add some more:

“I think from an investor’s standpoint, you need to own this ahead of when it becomes apparent to everyone that the products are coming.”

This leads to one very important question that you need to answer as an investor: do you truly believe that Apple is going to push these products in the second half of 2013? If so, you have to determine if you feel that these will be true game changers or simply more of the same.

Whether or not Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) continues to gain steam after WWDC 2013 is yet to be seen. However, the rest of the year is very important to the future of the company.
