Unit Corporation (NYSE:UNT) shares have surged by 23.08% in morning trading after the oil and gas E&P reported second quarter earnings of $0.03 per share on revenues of $212.39 million, beating estimates by $0.31 per share and $7.64 million respectively. Total production for the quarter was 5.1 million barrels of oil equivalent, up by 10% year-over-year. Oil and natural gas liquids production inched up by 5% year-over-year, while gas gathered and gas processed volumes jumped by 12% and 10%, respectively, year-over-year. Unit Corporation (NYSE:UNT)’s average realized per barrel equivalent price was $20.61. Guidance was solid, with management expecting production growth of 6%-to-8% for 2015, versus the previous production growth guidance of 2%-to-4%. As the company previously mentioned, it expects 2015 capital expenditures to be around $30 million lower than originally budgeted because of efficiency gains. Given today’s rally, shares are now up by 6.76% year-to-date.
