Founded by Remy Trafelet, Trafelet Capital is a New York-based hedge fund focused on long/short equity plays with a bottom-up approach. Remy Trafelet got his start at Fidelity, and his fund was a multi-billion high-flier by the mid-2000s. Like most hedge funds, Trafelet Capital had its troubles during the global recession, but it has survived quite nicely.
In early 2014 Remy Trafelet’s Trafelet Capital announced that George R. Brokaw joined the firm as a managing partner. George Brokaw previously worked at Highbridge Capital. The firm also changed its name to Trafelet Brokaw & Co.|
Trafelet Brokaw Capital Management has more than $400 million in AUM at the beginning of 2014.
