Google Inc (GOOG) Continues Effort Against This Growing Problem

When most people think about Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) the first thing that comes to mind is its search engine dominance. Along with this, many consider the Android operating system the best in the world.

While there is no denying the fact that Google is one of the top internet and tech companies in the world, the company spends its fair share of time and money fighting against problems that have been plaguing the internet for a long time.

Sergey BrinIn a recent blog post, Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) discuses its commitment to combating child exploitation online. This is not something Google has to do, but instead something the company takes very seriously. Here is why:

“Child sexual exploitation is a global problem that needs a global solution. More than half of the images and videos reported to NCMEC are from outside of the U.S. With this in mind, we need to sustain and encourage borderless communication between organizations fighting this problem on the ground. For example, NCMEC’s CyberTipline is accessible to 60 countries, helping local law enforcement agencies effectively execute their investigations.”

That alone should give you a better idea of just how big this problem has become, and why Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) feels like it should step in and do its part.

While there are many companies aware of this problem and quite a few trying its best to minimize the impact, Google is clearly the most powerful. After all, the company’s search engine is the most popular in the entire world.

Here is an excerpt from the blog post, explaining how Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) is approaching this issue:

“Google has been working on fighting child exploitation since as early as 2006 when we joined the Technology Coalition, teaming up with other tech industry companies to develop technical solutions. Since then, we’ve been providing software and hardware to helping organizations all around the world to fight child abuse images on the web and help locate missing children.”

This is an admirable act by Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), showing that the company cares more about its bottom line. By providing software and hardware solutions, organizations around the globe are able to ramp up their efforts in combating child exploitation.

Google is doing its best to make a difference and help put this serious issues to rest.
