Eric Sprott’s Sprott Asset Management Initiated Stakes in Petaquilla Minerals and Wi-Lan

Eric Sprott’s Sprott Asset Management filed 13G for its position in Petaquilla Minerals Ltd. (PTQ.TO) and Wi-Lan, Inc. (WIN.TO) on November 8th. As reported in the filings, Sprott Asset Management now has 15.14 million shares in the PTQ.TO, giving a 6.8% passive stake; and 8.94 million shares in WIN.TO, or 7.2% passive stake. Sprott Asset Management did not have any share in either Petaquilla Minerals or Wi-Lan before, so these are brand new positions. Since the daily trading volumes of both stocks are quite small, Sprott Asset Management might start to enter in early October at near $0.65 per share for PTQ.TO, and $6 per share for WIN.TO. On Tuesday, PTQ.TO and WIN.TO are closed at $0.77 and $7.39, respectively.
