BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY) Passport Thrilling Users the World Over

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is no longer the big dog in the smartphone market. It may not have much market share. It may not be doing much to steal users away from the competition. What the company is doing, however, is staying the course by continuing to produce some of the most innovative devices the market has seen.

Last week, we discussed the BlackBerry Classic, taking a closer look at how it blends old school style with new school technology.

This time around, we are going to examine the globetrotting ways of the BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Passport. This smartphone is thrilling users from one side of the world to the next, thanks in large part to its distinct shape and style, along with a variety of features.

BlackBerry continues to tout the Passport, making note of the many positive reviews that continue to pour in from users and media professionals alike.

In a recent blog post, the company had this to say:

“Designed from the ground-up to break the mold, the BlackBerry Passport’s 1,440 x 1,440 ppi screen is a window into a world where every action item gets crossed off the list, every call is crystal clear and every message is communicated as intended – be it text, email, memo or manuscript.”

If nothing else, it is hard to disagree with the fact that the BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Passport is breaking the mold. The device was new territory for BlackBerry, as well as consumers, and it has responded well thus far.

Just how well, you may ask? The blog post goes on to discuss how the Passport has the “best mixed runtime among all rivals,” which includes the Samsung Galaxy S5, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus.

BlackBerry is hoping for even bigger things from the Passport this month, as AT&T will begin selling it in February. This will go a long way in getting the device in front of a bigger audience.

With 2015 up and running, it will be interesting to see if the BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Passport has enough momentum to grab onto some meaningful market share this year. Only time will tell.
