AT&T Inc. (T) Gets Huge Data Spike During Super Bowl

A little perspective in required on these data-usage numbers. When checking out a mobile data use calculator (which is available on some wireless companies’ sites), the estimate of 78 gigabytes equates to more than 240,000 posts on social media (including photos), or about 240 hours of continuous HD video streaming. When you consider 388 GB for an entire game, you’re looking at more than 1 million social-media posts or about 43 straight days (six weeks) of nonstop video streaming.

What do you think? Do you think these numbers matter for AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) in the long run? Do you think the “big arena problem” can be solved with existing technology? What do you make of these numbers and what would they mean to you if you were assessing the company and its network? We’d love your thoughts in the comments section below.
