Apple Inc. (AAPL) WWDC: The Breakdown Of What You May Not Know

Every year, the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) WWDC event is a big one. This is something that the company looks forward to, along with the many who will be in attendance. And of course, even those who are unable to attend in person are hoping to learn more about the direction of the company and what to expect in the future.

Apple Inc (AAPL)If nothing else, you can be rest assured that quite a few stories will come from WWDC 2013. Some will be sure to excite consumers while others may throw you for a curve. Either way, you know that this Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) event is going to be packed full of action – and that is all that really matters.

Gartner, Inc., the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company, recently took a closer look at what to expect during this year’s event.

While nobody knows for sure what is going to happen, it is safe to say that some guesses are better than others.

Here are three basic points:

“I anticipate the developer release of iOS 7 will be released. Another possibility is an updated developer release of OS X, but that is not a given. I do not expect to see any new devices announced. There is a possibility that we will see a new service announced, such as a streaming music service.”

This is not that big of a prediction, being that most people realize that iOS 7 is going to be released. If this doesn’t happen, we have some news on our hands.

When discussing what Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) needs to do to thwart threats to iOS from the competition:

“Apple needs to continue to advance the platforms, and eventually they will need to introduce a new product category that is well accepted by the market. This is their history and the more time that passes before this happens, the more that the industry will question Apple’s ability to innovate.”

This is what a lot of people have been talking about. When is Cupertino going to come out with the next big thing? We is the company going to excite its user base once again?

On future growth:

Apple needs to retain its focus on delivering compelling products and services to the consumer. This means fixing the issues that the current services have while improving them. Additionally Apple needs to demonstrate that it still has the ability to innovate and invent products that consumers don’t know that they need or want yet. This is the hallmark of Apple, and its narrow product offering requires that the company continue to deliver innovation.”

This is some great information from Gartner, concerning the upcoming Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) WWDC event as well as what the company is going to face in the future in terms of competition and growth.
