Apple In China: Nobody should be surprised at this point that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is doing all it can to grab as much market share as possible in China. While the Cupertino based company has run into its share of trouble in this country as of late, things seem to be looking up.

Before we get into how the company is performing in China, in regards to tablet sales, let’s revisit another piece we published this morning on the same topic: Apple iPad Just Lost a Boatload of Market Share In The UK

Apple Inc. (AAPL) to be Added to Several WisdomTree ETFsIn short, this article shows that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has lost about 10 percent of its market share in the UK over the past year.

Is the same thing going on in China? If you believe a report by DIGITIMES, the answer is no.

Instead, it appears that Apple is holding steady at the top of the market with no signs of giving in to the competition at any point in the near future.

Here is the article for those who want to read it in its entirety: China market: Apple shares over 71% of 4Q12 consumer tablet sales, says Analysys

When looking at numbers for the fourth quarter of 2012, it appears that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is doing just fine in this ultra competitive market. According to China-based Analysys International, Apple held onto 71.6 percent of the market.

As you will see on the chart at the end of this article, Apple’s next closest competitor was Lenovo with 10.2 percent of the market. Rounding out the list is Eben at 4 percent, Samsung at 3.9 percent, Acer at 2.3 percent, Asustek at 1.5 percent, and Teclast at 1 percent.

In other words, nobody is close to competing with Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in China right now – at least as far as tablet sales are concerned.

Analysys did report that for business use tablets online, Eben is holding onto 41.9 percent of the market followed by Samsung at 21 percent. Of course, this is not the part of the market that Apple is most interested in.

If you think the company’s sales numbers are good in China, check out this piece: Apple iPad: 81.9% of US/Canada Tablet Web Traffic in March, Report Says

This report may not have anything to do with sales, but it shows how popular the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad has become in the United States and Canada.
