iPad Vs Samsung Tablet: Apple, Samsung – Which One Will Ship More Tablets?

iPad Vs Samsung Tablet: Although Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has been top dog in the tablet market for quite some time, thanks to its iPad lineup, the Cupertino based company is well aware that the competition is aiming for its head.

With the tablet market set to grow over the next few years, it is safe to say that more and more competitors will be doing whatever it takes to dethrone Apple and grab ahold of a bigger portion of the market.

Apple Inc (AAPL)The question is this: which tablet maker is going to step up its game and challenge the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad? While there are many that hope to make a run at the top, it makes the most sense for Samsung to be Cupertino’s top competitor.

As you know, Samsung is already neck and neck with Apple in the smartphone race. Now, it remains to be seen whether the company is able to do the same as far as tablets are concerned.

According to a recent report by Digitimes, both Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Samsung are going to ship quite a few tablets in 2013.

The report states that the two companies will combine to ship 110 million tablets this year.

“Taiwan-based TFT-LCD panel makers have received surging orders from international tablet vendors and China-based white-box ones, according to Taiwan-based supply chain sources, adding that Apple and Samsung Electronics together will ship 110 million tablets in 2013.”

This doesn’t even account for the number of tablet shipments from other companies that are hoping to at least be considered in the conversation.

The article goes on to add that other venders will “ship 50 million tablets during the year and white-box vendors as many as 100 million units.”

Right now, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is in the lead and with a new iPad on the horizon the company is hoping to hold onto its spot throughout 2013 and beyond.

On the other side of things, Samsung knows what it takes to compete head to head with Apple. The company has been successful doing so in the smartphone arena, so it is likely to employ the same strategy in the table market in the near future.

If reports from Digitimes are accurate, it will be interesting to see which company, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) or Samsung, ends up shipping more tablets in 2013.
