Apple iPhone Competitors: HTC One & Samsung Galaxy S IV Adoption Going Up, Study Says

Apple iPhone Competitors: In a perfect world for Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), its iPhone would have no competition. Instead, it would be the only option for consumers. Of course, this is never going to happen. Instead, other companies, including Samsung and HTC, are looking to make their mark on an industry that will continue to grow in the years to come.

For Apple, the adoption of other devices, such as the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S IV, could spell doom.

Apple Inc (AAPL)This doesn’t mean that the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone has nothing to offer. What it does mean, however, is that the competition is just beginning to heat up.

A recent study by Chitika Insights took a closer look at the adoption of both the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S IV. This may not sound like it has anything to do with Apple, but if these smartphones continue to grow in popularity they will likely steal away market share from Apple. And that is something Cupertino has to be concerned about.

Here is how the study was performed:

“To quantify this study, Chitika Insights examined a sample of tens of millions of U.S. and Canadian smartphone-based online ad impressions seen over the Chitika ad network. These data sets ranged from April 19th to May 6th, 2013 for the HTC One, and from April 26th to May 6th, 2013 for the Samsung Galaxy S IV.”

While it would be interesting to add Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPhone stats to the fold, Chitika only took a closer look at the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S IV this time around.

On the next page, we are going to share two pie charts with you, showing the growth of each device.

Despite the fact that the HTC One has limited availability at the present time, it is beginning to pick up steam. This will continue to be the case if it launches on the Verizon network in the near future.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S IV is rolling along just fine. In fact, it achieved “a 0.19% share of overall smartphone traffic 10 days following launch.” With its growth rate on the rise, this is the one phone that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has to be most worried about.

These numbers bode well for the future of Samsung and HTC, and may scare Apple just a bit.
