Apple Inc. (AAPL), Google Inc (GOOG): Which Store Has More Inventory?

According to the latest estimates, the Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Play Store is recording about 2 billion downloads per month, while the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) App Store is averaging about 1.8 billion per month, give or take. Doing that ratio, and there are 1.1 Google Play downloads for every one Apple App Store download. In other words, the Google Play Store will overtake the App Store by sheer volume, but when looking at the ratio of downloads compared to the ratio of smartphones, and Apple is holding up well – and in fact, this could signal that Apple iOS users are downloading more apps per phone than Android users are on Google Play. Just a little something to think about.
