Apple Inc (AAPL): Fender Guitar Plugs into Your iPhone!

Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) has been a company that has had a flair for music for quite a few years, what with the relevance of iTunes and the development of the iPod and iPod Touch for portable digital music enjoyment. But now, Apple has been working in conjunction with Fender Musical Instruments Corp to develop a concept that can create songwriters in a similar way that e-books created self-publishing with ease.

Apple Inc. (AAPL)

One of the rare non-Apple items to be found on the Apple Web site is the $200 Fender Squier Stratocaster electric guitar. But this isn’t just any classic electric guitar like Fender has made for six decades. You see this one is iOS-enabled – which means it can plug directly into an iPad, iPhone or Mac computer for instant recordability.  Of course, the guitar does also plug into a regular amp like any other electric guitar, but plugging into an iOS device allows the player to record directly onto the device and use Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) Garage Band editing and production software to, by some basic measure, record various tracks or an entire album to present to record labels.

Oh, and if you are one who shares a house with others and thus can’t make a lot of noise, the guitar comes with a headphone jack so that, when headphones are plugged in, the noise goes directly to your ears and not into the room. The guitar matches up with Apple inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) through a USB port and iOS capability, which are really the most dramatic changes to a guitar has has been relatively unchanged for 60 years. The guitar launched earlier this week.

With Fender Musical Instruments Corp calling off its IPO (for the time being), it certainly could use something to get into the consciousness of investors and build some momentum for a future IPO, and connecting with the biggest company on the market is certainly a bold step. And with no indication that an Android or Windows version will be available in the near-term, this gives Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) a distinct advantage in the home recording studio – or garage. How this flies with Apple investors like billionaire Julian Robertson of Tiger Management remains to be seen, though.

Is this the next thing with Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), or just a natural progression from what has been already accomplished? Are you someone with a desire to own a Fender? Have you wanted to become a songwriter? Does this make musical creation more accessible to the masses hen it is accessible through a computer device? We’d love to get your feedback about this new idea. Is Fender on to something?
