Apple Inc. (AAPL): All UK House of Commons Members Will Get iPad Air 2

It seems Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has just gotten a new large order for its iPad Air 2 which will be going to people who are considerably more influential than the ordinary man or woman in the United Kingdom.

According to a report from The Telegraph, all 650 members of parliament of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom will be getting an Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad Air 2 and a laptop after the general election scheduled in May.

Not that everyone is pleased with the decision, of course, except maybe Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). According to the publication, Shadow Cabinet Office minister Chi Onwurah who is credited as the first person to discover the information, is voicing her displeasure brought about by the planned purchase of devices for all MPs.

Apple, is AAPL a good stock to buy, United Kingdom, members of Parliament, iPad Air 2, House of Commons,

The plan, The Telegraph reports, will cost about £200,000 for each year of the Parliament’s tenure and Onwurah is saying that the move is a mistake.

“As we saw with Nigel Mills and Candy Crush, MPs will be using the games, and the iTunes and other features on the iPad. Locking some of the most powerful people in the country into a platform that most of my constituents can’t afford seems like a mistake. And that’s without mentioning the tax avoidance issue. I’m pushing for a device independent digital platform for Parliament,” Onwurah is quoted by the publication as saying.

However, Commission chairman and Liberal Democrat John Thurso is defending the plan saying that since iPads have been used in the Parliament of the United Kingdom since 2012 and have been integrated into the system used by the body, not continuing using Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPads will incur costs.

Ken Fisher’s Fisher Asset Management owned about 10.76 million Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares by the end of 2014.
