Apple Inc. (AAPL): 24 Versions of the New iPad Mini?

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is expected to announce sometime Tuesday of an unveiling event next week for an anticipated iPad Mini, which is supposed to be a 7.85-inch version of the 10-inch iPad. In the process of announcing this event, there have been some documents that have been released that seem to indicate that the iPad Mini is about to come out in as many as 24 different versions – two colors, three types of mobile connectivity and four levels of internal storage.

A chart of the proposed product descriptions was released, and while everything is coded, it chart does reflect 24 different versions of the new device from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL). A couple of insiders with knowledge of the products and the coding game some hints as to what everything means. It appears that Apple Inc. (AAPL) will introduce an 8GB version, which would be the irst tablet by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) to come with less than 16GB of internal storage, and it may have an initial retail price of about $249, according to sources. The four models – labeled P101, P103, P105 and P107 apparently reflect the four different levels of internal storage, with connectivity perhaps as Wi-Fi only, 3G and 4G LTE, and each of those are expected to be offered in two colors, labeled “A” and “B”.

No price points or storage options were revealed, just suggested and rumored so far. Details are expected at the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) launch event next week, which also may include a reveal of a new MacBook Pro and perhaps a new Mac desktop model. After a strong start with the iPhone 5 now being tempered since, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) could use a strong effort from its new products for the holiday shopping season, and especially for the bottom line for investors in Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) stock, like billionaire fund manager David Einhorn of Greenlight Capital.
