This statement is filed on behalf of Gary Gould, who: (a) is the Chief Executive Officer, Principal Executive Officer and President of the FSI Absolute Return Fund (the "Fund"); (b) acts as the Portfolio Manager of the Fund and is the controlling owner of Financial Solutions, Inc., investment adviser to the Fund; and (c) is the Managing Principal and controlling owner of Corporate Consulting Group, Inc. The unit transaction reported on this Form 4 for the date of November 1, 2013 represents an indirect beneficial ownership held by Mr. Gould through his participation in Corporate Consulting Group, Inc.'s Employee Profit Sharing Plan ("Corporate Consulting PSP"). Pursuant to Rule 16a-1(a)(2)(ii)(B) and Rule 16a-1(a)(2)(iii), the entire estimated amount of units being acquired by Corporate Consulting PSP is being reported.
