Aventura Mall has an area of 2,700,000 square feet, making it the one of the largest malls in the USA. It is located in Aventura, Florida and is the largest mall in Florida. It showcases over 300 stores and venues including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, JCPenney and AMC Theaters. The mall was opened in 1983 and is owned by Turnberry Associates (majority owner) and Simon Property Group. As part of its Arts Aventura Mall program, the mall features 20 museum quality pieces.

4. South Coast Plaza

Coming up at number four we have the South Coast Plaza located in Costa Mesa, California. The South Coast Malls holds the honor of being the largest shopping center on the West Coast. It has an area of 2,738,730 square feet with 280 stores and venues including Macy’s (NYSE: M) (3 stores – Main, Men’s, Home), Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale’s. The mall was opened in 1967 and is owned by the Segerstrom family making it the second largest family owned mall in America.

3. King of Prussia Mall

Until about a year ago, King of Prussia Mall had the honor of being the second largest mall in the United States with 2,793,200 square feet. It lost its title in the end of 2019 with the opening of American Dream. King of Prussia is located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The shopping complex features 450 stores and venues including Macy’s, Nordstrom, Primark, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor, and Neiman Marcus. It was opened in 1963 and is owned by Simon Property Group.

2. American Dream

Our runner up is also the newest mall to grace our list. American dream was opened in the November of 2019 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The mall has an area of 3,000,000 square feet making it the second largest mall in the US as it steals the title from King of Prussia Mall. The building features over 450 stores and venues including Nickelodeon Universe, DreamWorks Water Park, Big SNOW American Dream, Legoland Discovery Center, Sea Life Aquarium, Primark, Zara, Hermes, CMX, Saks Fifth Avenue, IT’SUGAR and H Mart. It is owned by the Triple Five Group.

With an area of 5,600,000 square feet, the Mall of America easily takes the number one spot on our list for the 15 biggest malls in the USA. The mall was opened in 1992 in Bloomington, Minessota and features more than 550 stores and venues. Some of its anchor stores and venues include Macy’s, Nordstrom, Forever 21, Marshall’s, Nickelodeon Universe, Lego World, M&M’s Store, Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium, FlyOver America, JW Marriott, Radisson Blu and CMX.
