It currently has over $1.2 billion in assets under management. Sandler Capital divides its efforts between a long/short equity strategy and a long/short credit strategy. Specifically, the firm uses a long/short equity approach with a multi-sector focus, seeking to produce returns and appreciation in general in spite of economic shifts and market volatility. The firm's investments are carefully hedged. In addition to seeking returns and appreciation, its investments allow it to also earn returns from interest and dividend income. Sandler Capital chooses its investments by conducting in-depth fundamental research on key themes, analyzing industry trends, assessing the macro environment and conducting analysis on companies themselves to gauge investment potential, both in the long and short term.
