The best jobs for 2014 cover a range of territories. Are you looking for a career change? A higher paycheck? A more rewarding and motivating workplace? What better time to make a change in your work life than in the New Year?

We would like to present you with a list we have compiled of the best jobs for 2014, based on study released earlier this year by Economic Modeling Specialists Intl. and CareerBuilder. The study searched for jobs that grew between 2010 and 2013 and are expected to further increase in 2014. The highest-paying job on our countdown of the best jobs for 2014, and the one that has produced the most jobs since the recession is that of software developer. While the 11% growth registered is not enough to rank it first, the salaries earned by these professionals are the highest in our list – an average of $45 per hour. According to the US Bureau of Labor, this job sector will continue to increase over the next 6 years, reaching a total growth of 20% by 2020.

Market research analysts are also one of the highest paid individuals on our countdown. These professionals are in charge with studying market condition and examining sales potentials. There are about 438,095 people working in this field (55,000 more than in 2010) and they earn an average of $29 per hour. The only drawback is that, unlike most jobs on our countdown, most professionals wishing to advance in this field will also require a Master’s degree.
