Research In Motion Ltd (BBRY): 10.1 Not Out, but You’ll Love 10.2!

Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is certainly working to push out as many software and service updates as possible, certainly in an effort to continue leveraging the momentum that has slowly been building behind BlackBerry over the last couple months and in the wake of the BlackBerry Live conference last week. But it also appears that BlackBerry is trying to very very responsive to the needs of customers who have already gathered their Z10 or Q10 handsets, and apparently the feedback has been coming back fast a heavy, because BlackBerry is already beginning to reveal new features in update BlackBerry 10.2.

Research in Motion Ltd. (BBRY)Which is great, except the 10.1 update won’t be out to BB10 users until next month, said Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) when it made that announcement a few weeks ago. But at least we can play “spoiler alert” by letting you know what will be in 10.2 so you can just about assume that these won’t be in version 10.1. Glad we could help! The first spoiler we’ll give you is the ability for BlackBerry users to be able to see emoticons in messages when sent from other mobile platforms like Android or iOS. Before, BlackBerry users could see emoticons from their own or other BlackBerry devices, but could not see them if an Android or iOS user were sending them.

Another nice feature for Research In Motion Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) include in its update is the ability to set multiple alarms, a feature that had been missing from the original BB10 when it launched in the winter. In addition, BlackBerry will have some enhancements to its notifications feature to allow for notifying a user of different messages or reminders when there is something important. The update will also improve on the 10.1 update in terms of highlighting and other minor fixes. Let us know your thoughts about these updates in the comments section below.
