Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NOK): 1 Image Of The Potential ‘Hero Device’ You’ve Gotta See

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) has been rolling out new handsets about as often as most people change their bed sheets. And the company, which has been on the verge of complete irrelevance in the smartphone handset market, has been giving its high-end Lumia line of handsets a full makeover in design and ditching the company’s native Symbian operating system for Windows Phone by Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT).

While Lumia sales were modestly better in the first quarter of 2013 compares to the last quarter of 2012, there is still a long way to go for the company before it can claim any kind of significant traction in a market dominated by Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) iOS and Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android.

And while Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) is overhauling its line of phones, it is continuing to spur rumors of new devices that we hadn’t heard about. First we heard about the Lumia 920 handset; then we heard about the Lumia 928, and finally the Lumia 925 which was launched just yesterday.

Stephen ElopAnd with still some speculation in the air that Nokia was going to try its hand at tablet computers, a new rumor is popping up that seems to suggest yet another member of the Lumia line – might this be the “hero device” that CEO Stephen Elop has hyped a couple of times in recent weeks?

Or was that the 925, which got a bit of a “thud” reaction in the markets yesterday?

Well, here we go with the latest talk – the Nokia Lumia 950 has now had some details and photos leaked in recent hours, and here is what we have heard so far about this latest and greatest Lumia that is going to save the company. (You think we might have heard this kind of hyperbole before?) Word is that this newest Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) handset will launch sometime after July 1, with a retail price not mentioned yet. It is rumored that the handset will boast a 4.8-inch display with HD support and a 1280×768 resolution. The 950 is rumored to boast a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with a 2 MP front camera, as well as a very strong 3100mAh battery. The phone, like the other Lumia devices, is expected to run Windows Phone 8.
