Global Payments Inc (GPN), Total System Services, Inc. (TSS) Among Value Holdings’ Largest Picks

Value Holdings LP, managed by Tim Curro, disclosed its holdings as held at the end of the fourth quarter of 2013. In this piece we will focus on Tim Curro’s top five holdings in terms of value – that Value Holding has held in his equity portfolio at the end of last year.

Global Payments Inc (NYSE:GPN)

On the first spot is Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corp (NYSE:WAB), that provides value-added, technology-based equipment and services for the rail industry. The fund has slightly trimmed its holding to 247,900 shares from 250,900 shares held at the end of the third quarter. The value of the holding has however surged to $18.41 million from $15.77 million in the previous quarter.

Daruma Asset Management, led by Mariko Gordon, held 1.16 million shares at the end of September 2013.

Second on the list is Global Payments Inc (NYSE:GPN), an electronic payments transaction processing services provider is the second largest holding followed. The position in Global Payments remained unchanged to 231,126 shares. However the value of the stake increased to $15.021 million, from $11.81 million at the end of the third quarter.

Last month, Paul Garcia, Chairman of the board, at Global Payments Inc (NYSE:GPN), trimmed his position by 164,000 shares, and now holds 64,492 shares of the company.

Coming in third is Total System Services, Inc. (NYSE:TSS), a $5.6 billion market cap company, that provides global payment solutions to financial and nonfinancial institutions. The position amasses 351,706 shares, which remained unchanged from the previous quarter’s holdings. The value of the holding however went up to $11.71 million, from $10.35 million.

Platinum Management, led by Mark A. Nordlicht, is another hedge fund, bullish on Total System Services, Inc. (NYSE:TSS), who held 381,001 shares at the end of the third quarter, and was the largest shareholder of all the hedge funds we track.

On the fourth spot is Rollins, Inc. (NYSE:ROL) that provides pest and termite control services. The holding remained unchanged at 256,912 shares. The value of the holding increased to $7.78 million from $6.81 million at the end of the third quarter.

Tim Curro’s fifth-largest holding is CSG Systems International, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSGS), that provides a business support solutions to the communications industry. The fund holds 250,390 shares, with no change from the previous quarter’s holding. The value of the holding surged to $7.36 million from $6.27 million in the previous quarter.

Intrepid Capital Management, led by Mark Travis, is another hedge fund who held 621,649 shares of CSG Systems International, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSGS) at the end of the third quarter of 2013.
