Facebook Inc (FB) CEO Meets With Samsung, What Are They Working On?

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) CEO Mark Zuckerberg is a busy guy. In addition to day to day operations, he has been taking a lot of heat as of late related to the company’s IPO and stock price.

One of the major problems facing Facebook at the present time is how the social networking giant is going to increase revenue. This is what investors what to know, and for this reason it is safe to say that Zuckerberg and his team are focusing a lot of time and effort on this one major detail.

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)In a recent Bloomberg segment, the finer details of a Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) and Samsung partnership are discussed. Whether or not these two companies are ever able to hook up and do something big is yet to be seen. That being said, this would be a win-win for both companies regardless of how they decide to work together.

Here is what the video has to offer:

“Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, seeking to boost advertising sales from mobile devices, discussed potential partnerships with Samsung, according to the head of the South Korean company’s handset division. Douglas MacMillan reports on Bloomberg Television’s “Bloomberg West.”

As you can see, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s CEO is not wasting any time in an attempt to partner with the biggest names in the mobile industry. Samsung is currently competing one on one with Apple for the top spot in the smartphone market.

Here is just a small sample of what Douglas MacMillan of Bloomberg had to say about a potential partnership:

“Samsung, as you said, is the smartphone leader and Facebook desperately needs to increase its presence in mobile phones. So, it is sort of a match made in heaven. We heard yesterday from Samsung talking about how that company s investing more in content, so it makes sense from both sides I think.”

As you can see, MacMillan agrees that this would not be a one sided partnership. While Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) is going to benefit greatly, the same would hold true from Samsung’s point of view.

MacMillan added even more:

“Facebook doesn’t have its own mobile phone and it doesn’t have its own mobile operating system, so it is very important for this company to the best of its ability play phone makers against one another.”
