BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY), Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) and Apple Inc.(AAPL) Put A Concerted Effort To Help The Oil Stricken Dow Jones

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) helped Dow Jones to close at a record high at 17,652.79 points, even though the reverberations of the falling oil prices were felt strongly by the energy companies. On TheStreet, Susannah Lee reported the news.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)

” […] Microsoft (MSFT) and Apple (APPL) both gained in the session. But Blackberry (BBRY) was the bigger gainer, up 7% after it unveiled a new partnership with Samsung on a secure mobility solution for android devices […],” reported Lee.

BlackBerry’s nearly one year old CEO, John Chen, is a man with a mission and it seems that he will not stop at anything short of pulling out a miracle, because that is what many once thought would take to get BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) out of the mess that the company was in.

He has brilliantly changed the focus of the company to a software manufacturer, while still not entirely leaving the smart phone market to the likes of Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). In fact the company is set to launch its third smart phone this year, BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) Classic on 17th December.

However, that is not how the Ontario based company is stealing the show nowadays. It’s latest device management software BES 12 is geared towards enterprise customers and works with all mobile platforms, be it Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) and of course BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) itself. Hence, the company is not just carving out a small niche for itself in the smart phone industry by trying to stage a comeback in the handsets arena, it is targeting the whole industry with its BES 12 software.

Furthermore, as Lee reported, BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) dropped another bomb shell on its rivals, Apple Inc.(NASDAQ:AAPL) and Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), by announcing the developments on another software in collaboration with Samsung. Although this might not directly affect its rivals as of now, but as BlackBerry starts to get more traction from the software business, its smart phones will  start faring better too, as the company will gain credibility and will also have more finances to invest in R&D.
