In the latest 13F filing, Julian Robertson‘s Tiger Management has disclosed its holdings as held at the end of the fourth quarter of 2013. The total value of the fund’s equity portfolio dropped to around $326 million in the fourth quarter, from about $653.05 million disclosed at the end of the third quarter.
Even though, Julian Robertson is not managing money for clients anymore, he still remains to be one of the greatest “hedgies” in the world. Which is why his moves should be followed closely. With this in mind, we have picked Tiger Management’s top five holdings in terms of value that the fund has held in its equity portfolio at the end of last year.
First on the list is Himax Technologies, Inc. (ADR) (NASDAQ:HIMX), in which the fund owns 1.96 million shares, with a reported value of $28.88 million. This is a new holding, added during the fourth quarter. Himax Technologies, Inc. (ADR) (NASDAQ:HIMX) operates an IC design house with LCD manufacturing capability.
The next position also has been opened during the fourth quarter of 2013 and is represented by Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE:VLO). The fund holds 497,000 shares, worth $25.05 million.
Aside from Tiger Management, Grisanti Brown & Partners, managed by Christopher C. Grisanti, also revealed owning 361,005 shares of Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE:VLO) at the end of the fourth quarter of 2013.
On the third spot is Gilead Sciences, Inc. (NASDAQ:GILD), in which the fund disclosed a $24.03 million stake, which comprises 320,001 shares. The stake went up from 254,300 shares held at the end of the previous quarter.
The next on the list is Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG), in which Julian Robertson’s fund reduced its holding to 21,413 shares compared to 25,440 shares, while the value of the position appreciated to $24 million, from $22.28 million at the end of the third quarter.
EQT Corporation (NYSE:EQT), is the fifth largest holding. The fund revealed a new stake that amasses 256,100 shares with a reported value of $22.99 million.
