It’s an undeniable truth that many of the supposed high-paying jobs you can do from home which you see plastered on message boards and in comments sections across the internet are nothing but fanciful scams; and sadly, not even very convincing ones at that.

You know the typical spiel: “Hey! My mom makes $85 an hour from home working for Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL), and you can too!! Just follow this link to some glossy website that will only charge you $49.99 to give you access to these A-M-A-Z-I-N-G positions!!”  Ok, the second part goes unsaid, but it’s there sure enough, like it was written in granite.

Yet despite that, and the fact that in many ways the internet is still a bit of a Wild West abundant in scams and littered with broken dreams, it’s truer than ever that it’s also a place where people of many different professions can now find professional, gainful employment, and make a lot of money while at it. While we now associate working from home with the internet, there are numerous other high-paying jobs you can do from home that don’t require the internet at all. Increasingly, people and companies are learning that they don’t need the high overhead (financially speaking, the actual ceiling may or may not be any higher than your home’s) of a traditional office to get things done.

Let’s begin our tour of the possible home work environments that await anyone brave enough, bold enough, and confident enough in their ability to not get distracted by cat videos for an hour without anyone to oversee them (or alternatively, by their own cat). These then are some of the most prominent high-paying jobs you can do from home.
