Boston Scientific Settles Dispute with IRA

Boston Scientific Corporation (NYSE:BSX)’s stock hit its 52-week high of $24.45 yesterday. It was revealed in a recent SEC filing that the company has entered into a Stipulation of Settled Issues with the Internal Revenue Service to pay the agency $275 million plus interest to settle a dispute that stretches back over a decade. The settlement came just before Boston Scientific’s scheduled trial opening in the court on Monday. The Massachusetts-based medical devices company is scheduled to release its latest earnings report on July 28, with analysts expecting $0.26 in EPS, which would be 18.18% more than the $0.22 per share that it earned for the same quarter of last year. Corning’s New Gorilla

Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW)’s shares touched 52-high peaks on Wednesday after the company announced its new Gorilla Glass 5. A statement from the glass manufacturer said that the new glass provides enhanced protection from everyday drops of mobile devices on rough surfaces. Shares have pushed their 52-week peak even higher today, reaching $21.77. Shares have gained 18% year-to-date.
