You should really be careful having sexual intercourse in one of these most sexually diseased cities in America. If you can’t (don’t want to) avoid it, at least use protection.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STD) also go by name sexually transmitted infections (STI). They are transmitted by sexual intercourse and can be really dangerous. The STI term is being more in use recently because it has a broader meaning. People can carry on the virus that causes the disease, but they may not have to develop symptoms of the disease. But you probably already know all of this. What you don’t know is how fast the sexually transmitted infections spread. According to WHO (World Health Organization) every day more than a million people get infected worldwide. It gets worse. Chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, and trichomoniasis are accounted for 375 million new infections. It is believed that in 2015 there were 1.1 billion people infected with STDs (HIV not accounted in). Also, more than 100,000 people died from sexually transmitted diseases. The other consequences include infertility and developing more serious diseases. The terrifying thing is that some of the STDs are very resistant to medical treatment and that makes it harder to reduce their spread. For example, gonorrhea virus became resistant to certain antibiotics that used to cure the disease in the past. The use of a condom can greatly reduce the risk of catching a sexually transmitted infection, but that doesn’t mean you are off the hook. Despite using protection, there is still a chance that you might get the infection during intercourse. Your chances are not good viewing the overall statistics. It is estimated that one of two persons who are sexually active will be infected with the sexually transmitted disease at some point in their life. The safest way not to get STD is having no sex, but tell that to the residents of Most Sexually Active States in America.
