I can tell you that paranormal documentaries are really on the rise in recent years. There are lots of interesting topics to cover and people like to watch them. They are one of those guilty pleasures. No one admits they watch them, but everyone does. Literature, movies and TV have multiple takes on all things paranormal, usually in a fanciful manner, which makes the more serious approach that comes with documentaries refreshing. Some of you will say that seriousness is nonexistent in paranormal documentaries, but anything that has some kind of argument to back up its claims, is at least trying to be thoughtful and offer a different perspective.
Different people consider different things scary. I think snakes are scary, while spiders are just fine (they are great pets). My friend thinks just the opposite. It all comes down to personal perception and experiences. When it comes to the paranormal, I think that really depends on whether you believe in it or not. For people who don’t believe in paranormal phenomena, they won’t consider any paranormal documentary scary. Those that do believe will find every single one scarier than anything featured on our list of the 19 Best Crime Documentaries on Hulu. But, that’s just my guess; you can tell me if I’m wrong.
